He says he loves me more than ice creme
and daddy more than chocolate. I will take
it!!

I was so excited to have received a package from my friend Cindy Beall. Inside, was what is pictured to the left. This is not just a book. This is her first book, officially published and I am elated to have a copy. I declare, that it is the next best seller! You need to get your hands on one right away; you will not be able to put the book down. (It’s one of those good one’s)

Cindy Beall has walked a journey no wife dreams of when she is planning her wedding, giving birth, living the married life, much less coupled with being in ministry. The standstill moment of discovering your husband was unfaithful. To complicate the situation, there was more than one woman, one might be pregnant and being he was in ministry their new situation was fixing to go on blast because we all know that ministry equals a public life. Did I mention that they had just moved and taken over a new staff position at one of the most influential churches? Did I mention that they had already been married several years and had a precious child?

In her book “Healing your marriage when trust is broken” Cindy shares her pain, the process, the forgiveness and the restoration her marriage went through. Did you catch my last phrase; the restoration. That’s right; God completely restored and renewed a marriage that had been broken to pieces.

I have personally never experienced the anguish one goes through upon that type of discovery, but every woman can relate on a certain level to shattered dreams, painful words, dreaded experiences and the negative impacts as results of various decisions. 2010-2011 School Year was our first year with a child in school. We chose to allow Marcus to attend public school. It was a huge decision for us; one that I do not regret. For months on end, up to an entire year before; I prayed, fasted, surveyed, inquired, researched, you name it on our areas public vs. private vs. homeschool options. Leander ISD has exemplary schools. His elementary was under 3years old, had a modern set up of "neighborhoods" meaning how the school was subdivided Marcus had THE BEST and I mean THE BEST Kinder teacher. Her name is Mrs. Volpicella, their computers were Mac desk tops five per room, the school was state of the art; principle, support staff - very pleased with who my son spent 7hrs of his day with. Their scope and sequence was excellent, I could on for EVER on how great his school is.

In March, Bishop Jakes invited some Pastors to meet him in New Orleans for "Project Gideon." It was my first time there. Mark and I ate off this menu, didn't know what to order. :) Settled for gumbo and a stuffed potato - it was delicious.

Marcus had a "carnival" at his school. He was SO EXCITED - lots of events for the kiddos to participate in. Him and Matthew loved this train ride the best!

It looks like he's going to fly away! I love it - they had a great time!

Another themed project for Marcus. This school year we have experienced creativity on a "whole nutha level" :) This is his cowboy for cowboy week!

Here is Batman and Superman! It does NOT have to be Halloween for these boys to role play and dress up. This is an everyday occasion folks. Those who know us well, know that they change outfits SEVERAL times a day.

Oh wait..You can't have "cowboys week" at school without having it at home!

Marcus loves basketball - we've been to several Torros games this year! Thanks Allen for the tickets!! Marcus was able to take his ENTIRE class & they could bring one parent to a game b/c Allen hooked us up. That was fun & Marcus was popular needless to say. Go Torros!

The sign says - I LOVE DAD. For Mothers Day we had "muffins w/mom" can't locate the pic off hand, last week the kids had "donuts w/dad". We had a GREAT teacher I'm telling you! Marcus has grown so much this year. We are blessed!

BEST BOOK - JOLT by Phil Cooke

This is the BEST book I have read in a long time. I love to read. I am an avid reader. If you don't read, you can't lead; you can count on that. Let me tell you a bit about JOLT.

JOLT is all about change. Change can be an uncomfortable word especially when used in the context of stretching you to become a better you.

In life we must continue to change and transform yet sometimes we stop. Some of us stop because of an experience, a situation, a death, a life, a promotion, the reasons vary. Some of us get stuck coping in life and simple start maintaing. JOLT is an excellent book to kick you in the rear and get you jump started on your next change.

GLO Conference 2011 w/Jessica Cornelius II

Last week I had the opportunity to attend GLO Conference 2011 hosted by Jessica Cornelius, wife to Bil Cornelius, Pastors of Bay Area Fellowship Church, in Corpus Christi, Texas. The conference line up was amazing! Jessica shared a few words each night encouraging the ladies. My favorite line of hers was "pay full price for your destiny." I love that! Her other two speakers were Lisa Bevere and Lisa Young. Lisa Bevere spoke on allowing the Lioness within you to arise. My favorite line from her message was "When speaking to your sons, correcting your sons or corresponding with them; speak to them as a Prince, not yelling and magnifying their lowest form." I love that! Mark and I always say we are "training royalty" when referencing Mark II and Matthew. I was so excited to hear we are not the only ones who think that way. Lisa Young spoke on depression. She shared her story and personal struggle with it, as well as offered hope at the end of her session. Between evening conference sessions, it was a great time to hang out with each other, do lunch together, shop and other fun things. We had lunch in a large group on Friday, trying the famous “fried avocado” followed up with coffee as a group back at the church, with Lisa Young. Movie Night with Bishop Jakes & Project Gideon

Last week Pastor Mark and I had the privilege of being invited to a mentorship event with Bishop TD Jakes, also known as Project Gideon. I will be blogging on our experience on other posts, but I wanted to share with you “Movie Night with the Bishop!” He rented out the Prytania Theatre; the oldest operating theatre in New Orleans dating back to 1915.

Project Gideon delegates were attendees where we watched a pre-screening of his movie Jumping the Broom. As host, he served popcorn and soda and I sat right next to my hubby soaking up a date night.

Jumping the Broom is a hilarious wedding-themed comedy that depicts the collision of worlds when two families from divergent socioeconomic backgrounds are forced to spend the weekend together for a wedding on Martha’s Vineyard. – The movie was GREAT! Without giving it away; there were so many relatable points.

Everyone should see the movie! The skin showed in the movie is nothing more than what you would see in a JcPenny's catelog, so just note that if you're judging based on previews. There are godly principles implemented through secular scenes. It's the perfect opportunity to build on the hidden messages and how we can live out Christ in our daily lives.

How to view your Pastor!

Is your Pastor Hott? Is your Pastor Good Looking? Does your Pastor look fine every Sunday Morning? Well...we need to get a few things into perspective!

Your Pastor is God's ordained Holy Man of God for your respective church. While naturally he is "good-looking" and even more attractive under the "anointing" let's be CLEAR on how you should "view" your Pastor.

Your Pastor is your Spiritual Father. Just as a daughter might have a strikingly good looking daddy, he is still her father and the feelings, actions and way you approach him; must remain appropriate.

People think that "joking" about it or making "comments" here and there are okay. Let's be CLEAR; it's not. Just as it would be "off", "weird" and bit strange to talk about your daddy like that, it's the same for your Spiritual Father.

Don't embarrass yourself ladies; God knows what's in your heart and others can tell too. Let's take it a step further for the men in the house. If you find your Pastor's Wife attractive, wish your wife was "more like her"; don't embarrass yourself either. I also view you as a Spiritual Son in the faith, not as a "male friend", not as a guy who "thinks I'm pretty", not as anything other than a Spiritual Son. And just as I would never be inappropriate with my own boys, I would never entertain inappropriateness with you!

We teach and practice the principles of the Sr. Pastors being the Spiritual Parents at Breath of Life Worship Centre'; period. We both love Jesus and each other more than anything. So, clear up your perspective, focus on Jesus, repent if need be and get straight.

Thursday Night Basketball Austin Torros

Marcus LOVES basketball. For Christmas he received four tickets for the Austin Torros in his stocking stuffer from Daddy and Mommy. He said "are these for a real life basketball game?" Here are a few pictures from our night.

Game was at the Cedar Park Center, same place Pastor Mark was the post game speaker for the Texas Stars Hockey Team.

Marcus had great seat, great view and loved his first live game! Go Austin Torros!

Matthew had ice creme, drink, popcorn at the game.

Matthew as a good trooper, he just turned 4 for a little over 8 weeks ago, so... he did good. We assured him the circus in January would be more of his forte.

Get out the flour and get ready to make masa!!!

Just kidding!!! These directions are for the folks who know the basics in making these high in fat, out of this world unhealthy, yet DELICIOUS treat! Here is a pic of what you need to pic up at HEB? They are rolled out, pressed, perfectly circuluar raw tortillas. All ready for you to drop in hot oil. You can either cut these up into four or leave whole. In Austin, they are located on the opposite side of the creme cheese.

Fry them in the oil till they loook like this. Then QUICK while they are hot, put them in the large bowl you have sugar and cinnamon premixed in, so it will stick.

And Viola!!! Here you have one of these, which ever you chose to go with. Make sure you cut them up BEFORE you fry them. (All pictures courtesy of google) We are making these for New Years Eve....family tradition. (I will take pictures then)

I love to read; so, I joined booksneeze! The program is rather easy, you simply commit to blogging a review on a book and you receive the book at no cost. I must say that you cannot chose anybook available online, it is from a pre-selected selection.

My first review is for a devotional type book. It is called Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life. This book contains exactly what the title refelcts. Classic but timeless tid bit quotes for the professional life. This is a great book to keep handy at the office in your desk or downloaded to your ipad. I wish there was additional elaboration or stories to coinside with the book but overall ~ it was good writing and applicable day in and day out!

November 28, 1998 in Corpus Christi, Texas I married God's set man for my life; Mark Brown!

Since the day we met, ministry was always in the picture. The call of God on his life was undeniable. The anointing he walked in was amazing and brought us before LOTS of places and people. Getting married to a minister, a Man of God, a man of that caliber; I had no idea what I was in for. You don't know the COST/PRICE of the anointing, till you pay it. No clue about life in the ministry, till you live it. And you know what? I wouldn't trade a day of it. God not only CHOSE ME to be his wife and anointed me to be his help mate; but made me an ABLE minister in the process. Today, I stand beside him and co-labor as well behind him, under his leadership and to watch his back.

Mark Brown is EVERYTHING I prayed for and more. Is marriage easy? Ha! Marriage is work baby and you need to put your work in; but it's worth it! Our covenant scripture is Matthew 19:6... What God has joined together let NO MAN put asunder. (no man includes you, him, I, they, we, them over there, that woman, that man, that church, that ministry, what that person said, that thing, that situation, that etc.,)

The number 12 biblically:

Signifies governmental perfection
The temple of Solomon has the number twelve as the predominating factor, in contrast with the Tabernacle, which had the number five. This agrees with the grace which shines in the Tabernacle, and with the glory of the kingdom which is displayed in the Temple.

We are looking forward to what God has for us in our 12th year of marriage. There are so many things I love about Mark. I was going to make you a list of 12 top items, but then I'd give you all my secrets and well... that's not gonna happen! :)

I want to encourage you today, that wherever you at in life you can always Begin Again, Live Again and Dream Again!

Thanksgiving - Memories

Thanksgiving! It’s one of my favorite times of the year. Growing up I have so many wonderful memories of a full house with love and lots laughter. Was life perfect? No! But we built good memories and that’s what I want to do for my kiddos. As I type I recall several things: My uncle Robert always telling funny jokes in Spanish that I never could get because when translated to English it just wasn’t the same. I’m reminded of Papi-Jo, my grandpa, he would always cut the turkey at Thanksgiving Dinner and later tell us stories about life, war and anything we wanted to hear about; a vault full of wisdom. My sister Vanessa would rally everybody up to “go out”; she’s the best partier and party thrower I know. My other sister and brother-in-law would come home for Thanksgiving either from college or from living out of the city. Mom would always buy us a new outfit for every holiday; thanksgiving was no exception, so I loved the dress up. The Aggie game was one of the highlights. I would help my mom start cooking early in the morning, to have all the food ready by noon. We would have noon lunch at our house and dinner at my Aunt Yolanda’s. Each meal would host a side of the family; Cruz for lunch and Escobedo for dinner.

In 1998, Thanksgiving weekend I married the love of my life, Mark Brown. Since then, we’ve been making memories of our own. In 2004, when we had our first son, we started our own Thanksgiving traditions. One that we adopted from the Brown side of the family is going around the table and saying what you are thankful for. The first time I did this with Mark’s parents for Thanksgiving one year, I was so moved. Not specifically by what anyone said that day, just the routine to do it.

This year 2010, marks, Mark’s first year in school. Once again traditions are added and today we went to the school for lunch. Mark’s school put on a Thanksgiving lunch and it was GREAT! As a church planter, you are pioneering a new work. You are taking new territory and make no mistake, pulling down strongholds is a requirement in the process! This is one of the hardest seasons you'll encounter. Regardless of the number of years you've been in ministry, how long you've been a Chrisitan; the warfare is intense. The walk is lonley and the sacrifices you make are unbelieveable (literally). Today, I'd like to remind you that just hours before Jesus was tried, tortured and crucified, it too was one of his loneliest times. His team deserted Him to top it off! Can you imagine setting up and tearing down ALONE? Would you do it? His commitment to the cause remained steadfast.

Through all the sacrifices, the labor, the warfare, the exhaustion, know this: Every leader who does something SIGNIFICANT for God experiences a Gethsemane.

Unless you've walked it, you really just don't know. But life, does get better! He promises it, in "The Book!" Stay steadfast, unmoveable, focused and mission oriented. Take some time this week to ENJOY a piece of life! I know the pressure is intense as you consistently labor, drive, raise money and interceed for others. This week, take some time for YOU! Take a moment to enjoy the SIMPLE things in life and allow the Lord to refresh , renew and rejuvinate you.

Time - Falling back........

Time. In honor of falling back 1 hour tonight, I decided to blog on Time. We all have 24hrs in a day, 7 days a week, ONE Sunday, ONE Monday, ONE Tuesday, etc...

When I was young, I remember wanting to hurry up and grow up. When I was 12yrs. old, I wanted to be 13yrs. old. When I was 15yrs. old, I wanted to be 16yrs. old. When I was 18yrs. old I wanted to be in my 20's. You get the picture. Now, I wish at times, time would stand still.

In the fall of 2009, we did our planning for 2010. As many of you know, I'm back in school. Pastor Mark and I decided if I was going pursue another degree the time was NOW. So in the Spring of 2010 I hit the road running. Full time school, full time church, full time wife, full time mommy, full time OUT of time. That's right, over booked on every end. I have a strong conviction, "don't over commit and under deliver", with that said, I was burning a candle at both ends in efforts to not under deliver. I have a 4.0 average in school, have excelled on every front, grew to new levels in ministry, personally, HOWEVER, you can only continue at this speed for so long. At some point your relationships suffer.

I have the worlds greatest husband, children, extended family and church family. However, as we approach the end of the year, stop to reflect and do a self evaluation; I must question my time management. With a demanding schedule, time management is critical. Not a problem, I'm a certified trainer in time management. (seriously, professionally trained, certificate and all) What you are NOT trained on, in regards to time management is "relational development" as you manage your 24hours.

You see, there was one thing I left off of my time management schedule. MARGIN. That's right margin as it relates to time. Literally every hour of my day was planned so I can maximize and excel. Yet... there was no room for margin. No room for little things that come up that are special. No room for being spontanious. No room for anything unless it was on the schedule. This is the best type of breeding ground for routine. Routine is good, UNTIL it replaces relational development. You see, time is not only to be spent, but also invested. This is something I know, I preach and live. However, in certain seasons it's easy to get caught up and not realize it.

When life has you wrapped around the axil of activies, you must guard that routine does not replace relationships. Make sure you have built in margin and are not breeding or fostering an ennvironment for relational failure. Relationships trump routine incase you are wondering. And if you think you can build relationships in your routine. Check yourself. Don't allow demands and goals to replace devotions and things that count eternally.

As we "fall back" and gain an hour, make the most of it! I am eternally grateful for a supportive husband, children and family. I am grateful to the Lord for making a way through various circumstances this year and giving me the opportunity self evaluate before I crashed.

Are there areas of life you need to self-evaluate? It's never too late to make change. While we cannot turn back time, we can control our future. Start tomorrow, you get an extra hour! What will you do with it?

Halloween - Celebrate Life not Death

Halloween, Halloween, Halloween! What do WE do for Halloween?

Everyday, is a day the Lord has made. You as "man" choose what to do with it. Last year I wrote a blog (click here to read) on how we choose to not celebrate Halloween in the traditional manner of "trick or treating." While we do dress up EVERYDAY of the year (known as dramatic play to educators) as Bibleman, Spiderman, Batman, Woody, Buzz, Poliman, Fireman, etc., we do not dress up in honor of Halloween on Halloween.

Last year our church loaded jewlery bags with candy and on the plastic portion of the jewlery bags we had two labels. One side said, You are Invited. The other side said Breath Of Life Church (w/service times). We put in GOOD candy and got TONS of website hits - literally! Seed was planted! :)Praise the Lord. After we were out of candy we did our family tradition of decorating for Christmas. Yes, that is right, we decorate EARLY! We have lots of nutcrackers to put out and make it a FUN day!

This year we are taking a different approach. With Marcus in school (public) this is an opportunity to INSULATE our child. Let me give you an example. This past Friday was Pumpkin Carving Day with Dad! It was FANTASTIC! Pastor Mark took Matthew with him up to Mark's school and carving away they went! While carving this is what PM talked about. (author unknown) Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God picks you from the patch and washes all the dirt off of you. He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate and greed. He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine.

Above is the result. On the back of the pumpkin, is also carved a cross. We just couldn't leave it off :):) We are also planning a "Jesus is Lord" party! We've invited a few friends and planned for hot-dogs and a mini obstacle course. After each mini obstacle, you shout "Jesus is Lord" and collect your candy! FUN is what the kids are concerned about! FUN we will have while celebrating LIFE as "Jesus is Lord".

I wanted to post a few pics that captured Matthew best in his personality. 4 years ago, Matthew was born at 35 weeks. That's right, my "big boy" was a preemie. It was August 2006, I was 28 weeks pregnant and went in for a routine pregnancy appointment. It turned into a rather traumatic day and well.... not so routine. 1st of all, my Doctor was VERY well aware of my work-a-holic tendencies, straight forward and to the point personality. With that noted, he said, "this afternoon you will not be able to return to work so make your phone calls. You need to be placed on strict and immediate bed rest but I need some testing and blood work completed before you go home." So he sent me next door to the hospital, got blood work and tests completed, I was not released to go home thereafter. As a matter fact, the Doctor called and said I was being admitted and would be over shortly to speak with me.

What???!!! As I'm freaking out, following the nurse who is handing me a gown while I'm asking "that is ALL he said?" "What is on those test?" I called Mark and told him he needed to get up to the hospital a/s/a/p they were admitting me and I could not go home.

So I waited for 30 minutes, which seemed like 4 hours. When the Doctor arrived, I was pretty ticked to say the least. Mark was still in route there, I was in an unfamiliar hospital room all alone not fully understanding what was going on and he says........... We need to have the baby today. I said WHAT??!! It's too early, Why? He said your vital organs are not good, this, that, this, that, a bunch of medical stuff are not good. If we do not do this today you may die, the baby may die or we lose you both. I remember feeling stunned and SO ANGRY when he said that. I remember thinking 1. I was not happy with the whole hospital admittance approach, nor the hospital I was at for that matter, is this really happening 2. You better quantify and qualify what you are saying b/c I pay the bill (my insurance did at least) and all I just heard out of that entire explanation was baby today or death 3. I know he didn't just saying me or the baby are dying. My IMMEDIATE reply in a not so nice tone was WE SHALL BOTH LIVE AND NOT DIE TO DECLARE THE WORKS OF THE LORD!!! GET OUT and come back after I talk to my husband. He responded you don't have long, make a decision. Mark arrived, I briefed him. I wasn't sobbing or over emotional, more in shock. He asked me what do you feel in your spirit? I remember telling him NO ONE is dying. Have him run the test again! We prayed, called my mom and sisters to update them on the drama and had them do the test again. To his surprise, the testing showed we could wait another day at the most. EVERY DAY, we had test run and EVERYDAY we got extended. After 1 month of being in the hospital I was able to test 1x a week, where they checked my heart, liver and other vital organs to make sure I could keep carrying the baby. They did stress test on the baby, sonagrams, and other stuff, I was on strict, strict strict diet and bed rest. I could sit up no more than 15min. a day. That means that I layed in bed and could not move unless test were being run. Blood was drawn everyday. Bloodpressure was taken every 30minutes day and night. I was watched like a hawk. I remember having an ivy of some kind. I watched A LOT of TV, read A LOT of the Bible and spoke the word consistently. There were days I felt SO LOW in my spirit. The devil would infiltrate my mind with thought after thought after thought. I would cast down everything that did not line up with the word. Marcus was little was he didn't really understand everything going on, but he and Mark would come up and visit everyday. Being we were away from home (Corpus) it was just us up here Mark couldn't sleep at the hospital b/c we had no one to leave Marcus with. So night after night, I'd put in a preaching cd. Some days all I could say was God was the Good Shepard, the Great Shepard and the Chief Shepard. If you don't know what that means - get the CD. I would repeat that to myself over and over and over and over.

One day extention after extention turned into a 7 week visit. That's right, I was in the hospital almost 2 months prior to c-section. I remember hitting my 35th week and like usual, the Doctor said NOW is the time, we need to do it. However this time in my spirit I felt NOW was the time. No more prolonging, no more extentions, it was the day. October 19, 2006 was a Thursday. I had an awful reaction to the anestecia. They had a halo flight on standby incase the baby needed a NICU. There was a pedi in the delivery room and lots of extra bells and whistles. The Doctor said I know your previous son was 7lbs, I want you to be prepared that according to my measurements, he will be no more than 5lbs max. He informed me of the different complications but what was also in place to combat those potential occurances. My testing had moved from daily to weekly towards the end. So one week prior to 10-19-10 is when the Dr. said Matthew would be no more than 5lbs. according to measurements. I remember praying "Father if it is possible, without killing the baby or myself, let him be born as though it was full term not 35 weeks." In the operating room, I remember the Doctor saying "Oh my God!" I said "Oh my God WHAT??!!!" I thought Matthew was dead in the womb based on his "Oh my God" he said he's not 5lbs., he's got be at least 8lbs. Then I heard the cry. Of course this happened super fast. Matthew was born with the ability to breath on his own. He did have purple limbs and had a low APGAR test, but to God be glory he was HEALTHY for the most part! Normal and Perfect in every way!!

Bishop Jakes coined the phrase several years back "Favor ain't fair." While it' s not perfect English, it is perfect truth! Joel Osteen defines favor as "something intangible, where you have God's Blessing in your life."

God is so amazing. He opens doors no man can close and closes doors no man can open. He will take you places and put you in positions others pay their way for. He puts you in the right place, at the right time, with the right people. He establishes connections and works in HD with high speed.

God has shown our family, our ministry, and our lives favor. Is life easy? Does favor eliminate struggle? No. But I promise you, that God watches over His word to perform it. He wants His best for you. We have a saying "if you work the Word, it will work." What we mean is, speak the Word over your situation. Confess you are what God has called you to be. Believe that His perfect plan will be accomplished in your life. God uses the amalgamations of our life experiences for our growth and His glory. Don't be discouraged with the ugliness of life. Pick your head up and know that tomorrow holds another day, a brighter day.

1st Day of School

Mark Brown II 1st day of school! So excited!

Here, Marcus is putting his backpack away in his cubby. We followed him with the video camera (ha) ~ he turned around and said, I'm SO EXCITED I GET MY OWN CUBBY.

Here Mark sat down at his table. On orientation night Mrs. Volpecella had their tables arranged with a school box she purchased for them AND personally decorated. So he knew where his seat was. He is right in the front and center of his class ~ I love it! He is wearing a crown, because Ms. Volpecella has her room themed as a "Kingdom" ~ HE WAS SO HAPPY!!
There are suppose to be four children per table. They must have added one, because there are now five, three girls and two boys. They are working on the color picture, while the class settles as everyone enters. Daddy is recording in the background and Matthew is walking around like "where is my chair?" ~ He couldn't find one for himself so he went up to the rocker to sit as if he was ready to read to the class. I couldn't take a picture fast enough, but it was cute.
This next picture is Matthew and I at home, at this point, Matthew began to realize brother was going to be gone for a while. This is Matthew breakdown on the stairs because he misses his brother. It lasted a WHOLE 45 MIN. of SERIOUS CRYING. Lawd!

Marcus was so excited to go to school today! Here is a video clip while we were on our way. His teacher is AWESOME! Her classroom theme is "Being a part of the Kingdom" It's a public school, so can't come out and promote God, BUT, she does as much as she can. All the kids are wearing crowns on their first day because they ARE ROYALTY! I will miss my boy.

How to pray for your children!

I have so many scriptures that you can pray over your children and family, but I think what you're wanting is to A. Pray with them before bed or B. Pray for them before they head out the door. So instead of posting lots, and lots to sort through. I've posted some of my favorite & wrote them out with an example on how to use them. I incorporated the boys names, just change out for your precious little ones name.

Now let me say, I love "smart phones" you can say "call mom" and it calls mom. You can say, "call the office" and it calls the office. It accomplishes, what you have directed it to do. Sometimes there are glitches, but for the most part it works.

With God's word ~ there are NO glitches. IT WORKS ~ all the time ~ for every situation! It accomplishes what it is sent out to do. (Isaiah 55:10,11)

My point ~ speak the word over your child, it will accomplish what it is set out to do.

The Prayer:

Father we come before you in the name of Jesus and I bring to you Marcus and Matthew. I thank you Father as they go about their day, they are blessed and highly favored of the Lord. I pray a hedge of protection around them. That you will guide them, guard them and keep them from hurt, harm, danger, sickness and disease. I confess they have the mind of Christ and excel in every way. I thank you Lord that just as Jesus increased in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man, so are they. I thank you Lord that they shall hunger and thirst for the things of God over the things of this world because with you nothing is impossible. I thank you that you have set them apart for your work and you order their steps daily. Father we ask that you bring them friends that bring you glory. I declare the words of their mouth will be acceptable in your sight oh Lord, our strength and our redeemer. In Jesus name, Amen.

Super Powers

Marcus and Matthew were having a discussion. Matthew told Marcus he wants to fly and climb the walls. Marcus said you can't it's just pretend. Matthew with a sad face and his head down said I want special powers in my hands, as he motions empty hands around. Marcus said, YOU DO HAVE SPECIAL POWERS IN YOUR HANDS! The bible says we can lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. You can tell monsters to get out of your room and they listen b/c they are nothing but a demon. You are protected by the Holy Ghost! Did I tell you I LOVE my KIDS!!! They echo what you teach them.

God has given you power over the enemy. Are you exercising it? You have the ability to speak into your destiny. Are you doing it? You don't have to carry your burdens around, you can lay them at the feet of Jesus. Exercise the authority God has given you.

Kinder Camp

Kinder Camp was last week, Meet & Greet the teacher is tomorrow and school starts on Monday! We are ready! The purpose of Kinder Camp is to familiarize the kids with the new school and help Mom, Dad and the kid, LET GO! Upon entry, immediate separation. Kids went into the gym to do group activities with the teachers, parents went into the cafeteria next door with the Principle, Assistant Principle and head k-5 teacher to discuss BUSINESS! Initially, as we pulled up and parked, Marcus was EXCITED ~ I explained we would only be there for two hours and we need to "listen and obey" :) So, as I go to drop him off in the gym, after checking in and getting name tags, he was a bit reluctant to participate. (kids were in a circle pretending to be elephants - he looked at me like WHAT are they doing?? From elephants they went to snakes - great I thought- the look on his face was priceless but not the time for a photo as I was trying to make him comfortable and reassure his safety along with their plan for FUN) So... he stood back, watched and assessed. In the above picture he's wearing peach, with plaid shorts you can see him standing offish thinking, uh...I'm SO not doing that. I told him, he'd have a great time, walked out and went to the cafeteria.

In the cafeteria, the Principal facilitated the parent orientation. She asked a room full of approx. 60 adults "How many of you, this is your first born going into Kinder" ALL but 6 raised their hands. WOW!! We live in a young community! I knew that, but now I know, know that. Okay, so then she asked, "how many of you this is your last child going into kinder" the other 6 raised their hands. :):) They went over what we should expect the first day, the first week, how pick up and drop off works, what we can do to make it an easy transition etc., Then, they proceeded with a tour of the facility. We met up with the kiddos thereafter and they too had a tour as well as worked on a project, met all the teachers and tried out the playground.

One day 1, they plan on having a "small breakfast w/coffee" for the parents in the "community room" so after we drop off our child, we can chat and get to know each other, ask questions etc., (wow, I'm impressed) The teachers and administration seem wonderful, we will keep in them in our prayers as well as all the children. I'm personally VERY excited for Marcus as he begins his learning career.

33 years ago, I was born. Today I want to talk to you about purpose. If you are in my "age range" where did your life end up? Are you where you pictured yourself? Are you "just living life ~ the way it turned out" OR are you living with purpose? I encourage you, that whatever point of life you are at, to live with purpose. It is NEVER too late to make change. God wants the best for you. What is holding back? Who told you, you weren't good enough? Who said it would take too long? Why do you think you are too old? Why are you still wondering what you should do? Why do you continue to live unfulfilled? Do you find yourself complaining about existing situation? I have a saying "Don't complain about what you tolerate!", meaning make change.

In the beginning of 2010, Pastor Mark rolled out our mantra for the church. It was/is 2010 I am in! We've really taken that heart around here as we begin this new decade. For those who don't know, I'm starting my 3rd semester of school in two weeks. I'm currently taking finals for my 2nd semester. I'm going back to school to finish what God began 15years ago. Yes, I've been out of school that long. I'm going back to be an Attorney. Many years ago, the Lord placed a love in my heart for law. Yes, I'm sure I was breaking the law some 15years ago :) getting into trouble but it always intrigued me. I always felt "called" to pursue a law degree. To be an attorney. For one reason or another, I didn't. While I had a "good life" being married to the "love of my life" I settled with GOOD vs. GOD. Meaning, FOR ME, there was more than Ops. Mgmt., more than being married to a Minister, more than being a mommy and owning a business, more than lots of things ~ there was fulfillment of purpose for ME awaiting.

In life, we get curve balls. In life, we get side tracked. In life, we tend to settle. Some people simply give up and settle. But today ~ if you are reading this, it's not happen chance or coincidence. I want you to stand up and fight! Go get what is yours! Go back to school if need be. Make amends with folks, if that what's holding you back ~ but whatever you do, don't stay stuck where you are but MOVE FORWARD!

God spoke to Matthew my 3yr. old

So..we were at Dillards, doing some school shopping. Marcus is finding shirt colors he likes in size 6 and 4 for him and brother. Matthew, is doing his own looking around ~ he sees this shirt and says "Daddy Daddy come here ~ close your eyes ~ Jesus wants me to have THAT shirt, he point and smiles.

Today we hung out at the pool this morning. While we were there, we (Marcus, Matthew and I) played, hung out, invented new games, practiced swimming, enjoyed the splash pad, made new friend AND BAPTIZED BUZZ LIGHTYEAR! Marcus said "Mommy, can I baptize you? I said what? He said yeah, I'll baptize you and tell everyone else to get in line!" I loved it! I can't tell you what a blessing my boys are to me. Happy Birthday to the most extraordinary women I know! My mom! You are amazing & I love you! Gracie Escobedo is her name. She lost her high-school sweetheart and husband to cancer before the age of 35, left with four children ages 9months, 5yrs., 13yrs., and 15yrs.,. In case you don't know how that feels, it feels like life STOPS. But really it doesn't ~ the severe life alteration is overwhelming for all parties involved. However, in the face of adversity, with overwhelming circumstance she didn't lay down to die; and give up. Rather, she stood strong staring life in the face, speaking the Word of God and overcame. Years, years, years later while living life, with all her kids grown, she had a stroke. The doctors said the brain stem that sent signals to her body had been compromised and she would be a vegetable the rest of her life. He said they were unable to operate because it would reduce the chance of her living. My mom couldn't move but her eyes showed her spirit was crushed. I remember not wanting to cry in front of my mom so I stepped out of the room. As clear as you reading this blog, is as clear as the Lord spoke the following to me: "As much as you KNOW you are a female (the fact that I am fully convinced) you need to KNOW that I am going heal your mother!" I knew exactly what the Lord meant. That meant, inspite of the reports coming in from the Doctor which were facts, we were to speak the Word of the Lord over her, her body, the situation, everything. We did! AND GUESS WHAT? She walks, she goes to the bathroom by herself, she cooks by herself, she can supervise her grandchildren and play with them, she writes checks, she speaks well. I'm so proud to call Gracie Escobedo my mother. She's fearless, She's determined, She's an overcomer, She's amazing!

Are you in a situation where you feel like all the odds are stacked against you? Like the more you push, the more you stand, the more you do anything, there is not movement or giving of way? Like the giant you are facing is only getting stronger and laughing in your face? Well I'm here to tell you that even if you're small in strength, If God said it ~ He'll do it! And whatever you are facing today, God said He's given you the victory!

That may require "moves" on your part. Notice the little guy in the picture is "pushing back" and "moving forward." Don't be surprised when you encounter delays, because Delay, is the devil’s middle name. So as you push back and continue to stand, go after it with persistence, relentless faith and determination. If sacrifice is involved, be willing to do it. If that means walking by faith, holding out longer and driving harder than anyone understands, get it done.

We are planting a church in Cedar Park/Austin in the midst of a recession. We are a young family with two children with lots of hope and promise. 2 people answering a call of God on their lives. 2 people, building a legacy to leave a legacy. Church planting is not for the faint at heart. 80% of Austin does not attend church on a regular basis. However, we understand what God has called us to do. We embrace it and walk in it. There are risks, there is heartbreak, there are disappointments, there are moments when you want to believe the best in others, you trust them and they let you down. There are fights with the devil (meaning warfare) that are unbelievable and to the point of being ridiculous. There are people who say they are “for” you, but not really “with” you. There are people who have on a “game face” and tear you down behind your back. There are people that lie to you and come with manipulation, negativity and end up promoting defeat, division and discouragement. So can "life" be a bit of a challenge? Sure.

Maybe you are facing severe money issues. Maybe it's marital problems or baby mama drama. Whatever situation, whatever odds are stacked against you I encourage you to seek the face of God on the issue. Don't grow weary in WELL doing! Don't give up and don't be afraid to push back darkness just because it seems greater then you. God is faithful to perform His word - start confessing it!

My friend Jessica Cornelius hosted a PW (Pastor's Wife) roundtable, with Amy Groeschel and Holly Furtick, last month via skype. Incase you don't know who these ladies are, they are Women of God (links to their church and or blog are above)

Here are some "truths" discussed that can be applied across the board:

Manage your influence. Your influence in the life of your husband is significant. Do not manipulate it, or use it for your own agenda. Be led by the Spirit and guard your tongue.

Do not be a "sounding board" if you are in a cranky/flesh mode; make sure you are speaking with the mind of Christ. They ask for your advice, because they trust you.

If encouragement isn't your "love language" get an accountability partner.

Husbands are big targets, the seriousness of the call on their life is immense. Understand it and pray for them. You should be their greatest intercessor. Pray your man is loving God with all his might, soul, strength and that God will keep him strong.

The importance of your call in the ministry is significant. You will go through different seasons. Recognize the season you are in, press forward and work through it.

Know how to set boundaries and say no to too many engagements.

For Pastor families across America - Saturday's are days for gearing up for Sunday

For Pastors families your life schedule is completely different then the average women. Don't compare yourself and try to fit in.

One of the greatest things you can pass onto your children is a passion for God.

Keep the spark in your marriage. Do not be afraid to take time off. Men with busy schedules regardless of the profession, need time to unwind and then relax and vacation.

Pastor's Wife who have multiple services at church, get a weekend support system in place.

These are a few notes that I jotted down. This was an all day session, so as you can imagine I have a ton of notes. I am eternally grateful for the nuggets shared by these Women of God.

National Day Of Prayer

May 6, 2010 was the National Day Prayer. I'm a little late blogging, but that's okay :) Pastor Mark was asked to pray for the nation down at City Hall. Not only is it a great privilege to lift up the nation in prayer on behalf of our city but it is a great privilege to lead the city in prayer. There was a great turn out. The local Christian School Summit Christian Academy, had thier children perform a few songs. A P&W leader from a local church led all that gathered in a few worship songs, it was a great event!

1st T-Ball Practice for Marcus

One Word: Paparazzi ~ that was ME for Marcus 1st T-ball practice! We were all so excited! His day started early that Friday morning, I reminded him about "practice" and he was so excited ALL DAY! A few days prior, to include the week before we went to Academy to pick up his "pants" and "cleats" we also picked up an unofficial practice shirt, stopped by the Nike store for a hat and The Children's Place for some sun glasses! HE WAS ALL SET!

I even painted my toe nails ORANGE during my pedi, since his team colors are "orange". His team name is: The Bulls! His coach is Coach Danny and Co-Coach Paul, both nice men, patient with the children & we look forward to a GREAT SEASON!

Every once in a while you come across something MAGICAL~ YES FOLKS MAGICAL.

Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Matthew David Brown. Matthew David Brown is the younger of two brothers. He is 3yrs. old to date and has quite the personality.

Matthew likes to joke, play, laugh, not a real serious kiddo. He has his own definition of creativity which includes WRITING ON MY LEATHER SOFA'S WITH A MARKER. Gluing paper to the wall, jumping from high places ~ but hey, this is about finding something MAGICAL right!

WELL..... as we all know I LOVE Target. It's my favorite place to shop and while I was there two days ago, walking around looking for a new cleaner to make our wood floors shiny I found THIS!!!! (see picture above) It was 4.99 for that big ol' bottle, endorsed by Animal Planet and environment friendly. SO...I bought it. It CLAIMED to be the answer to my life's problems regarding stains! AND WELL IT WAS!!!!

I haven't technically tried it on the carpet yet, I'll need to test a small area first BUT ~ the marker from the leather couch is GONE GONE GONE!!!! I'm so excited I had to share it with you!

So go out and buy a bottle! Hope it works for what you need it for!

Sunday PM ministered at Apostle Nate Holcombs Men's Conference (This is our Bishop) He blew the roof off that place. Here are some pictures. He preached on "MOP" "Men of Purpose" When you have purpose you are able to mop up the devils spills. If you came from abuse, poverty, afluence, neglect, failure, pridefulness whatever your "world" God wants to create you into HIS own image.

Pastor Mark touched on so many points. It's Gods will that purpose and destiny collide in our life. That we live and walk out his full plans.

21 Day Fast COMPLETE

Fasting! One word some Christians run from, instead of adding it to a sense of lifestyle. My husband is disciplined in this area and is consistent. In 15minutes our 21 day fast will be over. It has been a time of drawing closer to God, decreasing so He can increase. God has spoken and show us so many things. 21 days is not easy, but well worth it. It's about hungering for the results not the food.

I look forward to the "new wave" of goodness that 2010 holds as well as this decade. So many things are already under way for us, it's rather exciting!

Everything is connected and offered at no charge. I'm excited as we embark on this New Decade. I want to encourage you that as you move forward with "change" ~ have no fear.

Fear is a spirit. Fear is not from God. Fears mission is to hold you back from moving forward in fullfilling God's plan, will and destiny for your life. Fear and Faith can open doors. Negative People...........

Negative people SUCK the life out of you. They SUCK the life out of the room they are in. They SUCK the joy, the calmness, the peace, the serinity etc..... out. They tend to bring and stir up drama. They put negative thoughts in your head by their mouth, their words, their unspoken body language; they are products of hurt, pain, injury, lack of healing and self control.

Do you have negative people in your life? If you do - WHY? Do you feel you can't get out from around them? Do it one step at a time? Not answering "that" call. Not being available. Not ALLOWING the closeness. Not allowing them into your life and inner circle.

You should guard your time AND your loved ones.

Are you being rude? no

Are you being ungodly? no

Get out from the negative people around you - before YOU become negative too!

The Cost, The Story

If today you are "in the middle of your story" or "working in/on your means" I want to encourage you that YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT!

IT will be worth it in the end!

Maybe you have reached your end result which was really a temporary end result and you are in the process of "dreaming again". Keep your head up. Yes the road can be lonely at the top, but it's worth it because He's with us!

The question was presented, “Do you let your kids “celebrate” or dress up for Halloween? If yes, does this raise eyebrows with church members or if you do not; how do you handle it with your children, etc..”?

Halloween. Say that word in church and ears perk up; it’s rather funny. While we might not all agree on each ones perspectives; we can agree that it’s a controversial topic in the church world.

With the accessibility of modern research, I will leave the opportunity to google and search for the history, origins, post-modern and modern fact, myths, info etc… to you and your free time for article length sake.

I will share with you what we do and why and you share with us what you do and why! How about that!

In the Brown Household, we have chosen to NOT celebrate Halloween in the traditional manner of “dress up” and “trick or treating”. We have done one of the following things over the last three years:

· Hallelujah Night – equivalent to a fall festival
· Handing out candy (inside plastic 3”x4” jewelry bags) with shipping sized labels inviting people to our church. (label says: You're Invited & give church name, website, slogan)
· Decorating for Christmas (yes this is true) (haha)

Truth be told, my children are young; 3 & 5. They truthfully dress up EVERYDAY. As dramatic play is a big deal for them right now, on any given day, you can find Spiderman, The Hulk, A Police Officer or Fireman in my home at any given time. To them Halloween is just another day. They are actually into Buzzlight Year and Woody this year; so I’m sure those costumes will be purchased soon. They have no idea the purpose and history behind halloween and why all these cool costumes are now only seasonally available. With our ministerial experience in dealing with witchcraft and demonic STUFF…., we opt to not celebrate in the traditional manner.

As for our church members, ministry friends, pastor friends, etc…. the bible teaches us to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. There are essentials and non-essentials in our variation in beliefs, interpretation of scripture, what we teach and live as an example to our flocks. As for raised eyebrows from church members, “raise on” because if I let them dress up and trick or treat, there will be talk. If I do not, there will be talk. I have grown to the point that their approval or disapproval means nothing to me. If my ways please the Lord, I am at peace with that – as that is my ultimate goal. To please my father, be accountable to HIM for my children’s upbringing, instilment of values etc..

ROOTS

What kind of roots do you have (under the surface) ?

What "front" do you put on around others ?

What do you try to cover up?

We all have roots in our lives. When they are not delt with, they begin to manifest "above ground".

They manifest in the way we communicate with our husbands, our children, employees, friends, family etc.... (communicate - meaning verbal and non verbal)

At our last womens meeting we spoke on "roots" and removing "roots". Roots of hurt, pain, disappointment, failure and defeat.

I encourage you today to let go of unforgivness, not understanding why "that" happened. Move forward with what God has gifted you with today and right now.

If you are in a position where you feel you have NOTHING - I want to encourage you to know that if you have Jesus living in you. YOU CAN START ALL OVER AGAIN!

Rain......Isn't it supppose to rain OUTSIDE not INSIDE your house. Well....on Sunday afternoon, I am sitting at the kitchen table on my laptop, Pastor Mark is upstairs in his office, Matthew and Marcus are suppose to be playing in the game room.

I see Marcus come downstairs - I thought he was going to get something from the playroom (which is by the entryway door) blocked by a wall from where I was sitting.......

AND ALL OF A SUDDEN................I hear the sound of RAIN.....in my house. OH MY GOSH....I thought what was that??? Then I thought - Matthew better not have peed on the floor (we are in potty training mode) oh no - it's better......

Marcus is down stairs and Matthew is upstairs throwing water over the balcony.....self created waterfall.

I just stood there stunned for 3 seconds then quickly got a towel from the utility room (we have laminate wood flooring which cannot hold spills or the floor will buckle - nice invention)

Then the "what in the WORLD were you thinking" came in....then I paused and thought - we'll I'm glad you didn't JUMP!!!

Oh my gosh - my world with the boys. My sister sent a text saying - hey just wanted to check in on the adventures of Mark and Matthew so I start show called the Adventures of M&M.

Compromise

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego......

Over the last week or so, The book of Ezekiel and Daniel have been really strong on my heart.

Ezekiel talks about a "rebellious people" "hard hearts" who COULD see the truth IF they wanted to, but didn't.

Daniel talks about so MANY points....also but what has been standing out is COMPROMISE.

(disclaimer: the bible says to work out your OWN salvation with fear and trembling - so what seems right to one may not be right to the other. My intent is not to condemn you, I'm writing from MY convictions)

Compromise = to follow a way between two extremes. (my def....settling to do one thing, when you should be doing the other) this could be due to lack of drive, lack of discipline, lack of desire to satisfy the Spirit, overcome by desire to satisfy the lust of the flesh (whatever that may be), laziness, fear of rejection and acceptance, failure to give 100% of yourself to the holy and pure things of God (whatsoever things are pure, holy, just - think on these things) (not in a religious sense - I'm talking a wholehearted transformation). Yes I know our spirit is saved instantaniouly and our a soul progressivly but you cant' stay on "stage 1 of babyfood" b/c eventually you won't get full. You will not receive all the nutrients for your growing spirit and believe you me, as a baby cries out when they are hungry - your spirit man will cry out. If you don't feed it - it will begin to get the satisfaction of the hunger through other things. While these "things" are technically subsitutes for what your spirit REALLY craves and longs for.

The bible teaches us that HE (Jesus Christ) satisfies our soul. Our soul is made up of the mind, will, emotions. ps 107:9 He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness.

My point....

Are you compromising in areas of your spiritual life? Are you settling for less then the best in your career path? Are you compromsing in your relationships with those around you?

Are you not standing up for things you should b/c you don't want to be a hardnose in the spirit or seem like a "religious person"?

Are you STILL doing things that you should have "graduated" from? Still on "stage 1 gerber" Well...it's just a little, you say, I only do it sometimes, it's in moderation - EVERYTHING in moderation right.....NOT....no not EVERYTHING. Everything doesn't include sin. Once God gives you revelation through His Word or in your quite time with Him that something is sin - no it's no longer okay to do it. It is what it is...sin. Sin is sin - there is no sugar coating - call it for what it is. For in the day of opposition, the devil will be sure to throw it in your face not sugar coat it for fancy it up for you.

Once again, I'm not preaching a doctrine of HOLY -PERFECT- SELF RIGHTEOUS living, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. BUT.... come on...if you are STILL (xyzing) you need to grow.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abendego...chose to not compromise in their day. They were the ONLY ones in the area caught not adhering to the "law of the land" to bow down to King nebuchadnezzars statue. That's like you being the ONLY one in your house, choosing to live holy, pure, righteous, the ONLY one in your department at work, etc.... but in this example God was with them....though they faced great levels of percecution, stronger levels of fire - not even a hair on their head was not burned!

Twitter vs. Blog

What a fabulous day today! I have never felt so honored. 1st spending my morning at the house of God' hearing an outstanding message by a Man of God. Having my mom and sister in town to celebrate - it was fantastic. My sister's family was also here and my children had a super time. I must say that today was quite a great holiday; I didn't expect.

Many times - we see our church as "holy ground" and not our home.

You must realize that our home is ALSO HOLY GROUND. God wasn't telling Moses to get comfortable! He was telling him that something very important was going on, reminding him to show respect and humility in the presence of something sacred. And telling him plainly that the Lord had important work for him to do.

At your home - you should too - take your shoes off. The place where you are cooking, cleaning, and raising the next generation is indeed holy ground becuase you are mine, and your home is part of His plan for changing the world.

If you work at home or outside the home - your house - is a place where God has chosen to live and do his work.

Throughout the Old and New Testaments, we find the idea that homes are places where souls are nourished and where God's ways are taught.

From the very beginning, God has made it clear: Home is holy ground. Your home is holy ground. And it's your privilege and your responsibility, even amid the messes and confusion of daily life, not only to take off your shoes, but to tend the holy flame.

As a Godly Women and Mother - you are called to create and maintain a home environment and atmosphere that reflects God's love, God's hope, God's peace - quite literally, to build your home on holy ground.

Being a mother after God's own heart is achievable. Whether you work at the office, the school, own your business or from home - you CAN create an atmosphere and home life reflective of God's attributes.

You are the mood setter in your house - you control that. Set it accordingly.

Be a mother after God's own heart. This may require that you change your definition of yourself. You are not your job. Your job does not define you. Christ defines you and you should redefine how you think.

This may require you to think intentionally and counterculturally. Intentional thinking is important because, many think "it" or "everything" will just all come together when "this happens" when "that happens". You must know life better then that. You must know that living intententionally takes planning, purpose, organization and time. If you want your homes to be warm and welcoming and to be success at raising saints for the King, we need to arrange for that to happen. We need to do it on purpose.

Countercultural thinking is crucial becuase our current society esteems - self over other, career over sahm - protect self instead of investing in others.

Connecting is part of Success! The bible teaches us that we are not to be an island to ourselves.

So many times people fail to connect & they don't even realize that is the part they are missing.

Some people don't connect for various reasons, they are lazy and self-centered, others fear rejection, while others are insecure and afraid of what others might learn about them.

I encourage you to connect today in your local Body of Christ. What does that mean - connect at your local church.

While Christians are FAR from perfect, the goals and objectives are the same which is to live a Christ Centered life.

Pastor Mark preached an Awesome message yesterday about "You are better then that".

Sometimes in life - we hit low points. It's part of the life cycle. Low points aka valleys. God said He will be with you as you walk through the valley. When you are at a low point - sometimes, it's easy to do or say something out of the depression you are in. However, God wants you to know that "You are better then that". Pastor Mark taught on taking hold of any thought, image, imagination that tries to enter you mind and casting it down. He taught how you don't have to surcome to your rotten attitude - you can rise above it. Do we know this - yes. But we humans tend to take the "easy" road instead of the "high" road. He encouraged us to take the "high" road.

FRIDAY FUN...

With all the "working" we do around here..... we make Friday our Family Fun Day's. Daddy takes the day off except for the essntials that must be done and the rest is pure fun, fun, fun.

This past Friday Daddy & the boys went to Krispy Kreme's. Matthew has been there 1x before; Marcus maybe 3 or 4 times. Marcus does not really enjoy donuts (like mommy). Matthew on the other hand LOVED his 1st visit. Friday made it his 2nd visit, Daddy got a dozon assort. donuts to keep over the weekend. Ummmm...... However, Matthew - thought he'd have a bite of EACH ONE. It was rather hillarious - so I had to capture the moment. (and no he didn't get sick) :)

April Fools - I've been had.....

I am SO not a joker. I'm sure it comes with my God given motivational gift of being a "ruler" kjv meaning "administrator".

Well for those of you who "really" know me - you KNOW I do not like surprises and I do not like jokes. Every April Fools I'm on guard or cautious sorta say to be sure I'm not "had".

Anyways - I thought I'd share the following so you could LAUGH......

There is a PW blog that I just started visiting. They posted a "free giveaway" of this Coach Clutch Bag. Ooohh.....I love anything handbag. Not a fan of coach - I prefer LV but nevertheless a coach clutch. On top of that it was not just 1 but 4. All you had to do was send your info via email and of "ministry uses" for example: womens ministry give away, church plant fundraising, silent auction etc. etc.... THIS REALLY HAD ME GOING. I'm so serious - I thought... that is great - this organization must have touched base with Coach, got them to donate 501c3 write off then...passing it on, thus the "ministry use reason" irs stuff. I thought that is awesome - exactly what I want to do for back to school but with shoes.....ANYWAYS..I WAS SO EXCITED I even announced it at STAFF MEETING........

The jokes on ME! It was APRIL FOOLS! I have been had for the first time in a LONG TIME.

GRANDMA GRACIE

Grandma came to visit. It was SUCH a surprise. I was so excited. She came in - in the middle of service, Marcus turned around and loudly said....... GRANDMA and took off running. It was great. She only stayed for the day - but it was so great to see her. My mom is a SURVIVOR. Literally. She survived loosing her husband while being a young mother (33yrs old) of 4 children ages ranging from 9months - 15yrs. THEN years later, she had a stroke. The Dr's said that she would just lay there in the bed the rest of her life. BUT KING JESUS had other plans. You can't keep a shopaholic down :) lol. She's doing well now. I will share her testimony one day.

New Book - New Journal

I was at Mardels (the local christian book shoppe) AND.... as I was looking around for "other things" I came across this BEAUTIFUL journal. (mock crockskin) I LOVED IT..... The first time I saw it - I passed it up. Then... I saw it displayed in another location - different sizes - ooohh I loved it. Well, I convinced myself to leave and not buy it - then....I went back to Mardels this past week and VIOLA... here it is. I bought TWO. I go through them fast..... :)

What My Mother Taught Me by April Osteen Simons. I could write a book on what my mother taught me...lol.... we all could. What prompted me to read this book is that ALL 5 of Dodie Osteens kids are IN THE MINISTRY not just serving the Lord - but doing His work. That is amazing. This is one of the best short books I've read - all the tid bits are awesome.

Short - Quick - Sweet....... (my blog today)

Pastor's message on the APEX of God's Economy was awesome yesterday. I love the part where he pointed out that "money not circulated - begins to stink". It is so true. God wants to bring us prosperity BEYOND our calling.

On a seperate note - he talked about Dr. Jesus. How some of us have bags of "issues" and we think doing this or that will fix it - when in reality we need Dr. Jesus to go in and do some work. I loved that one too.

I can't wait till next Sunday - he starts a new series on "the blood of Jesus". The person who turned our water on the side of the house and left it running to flood the entire portion between us and our neighbor needs to know that WE ARE COVERED BY THE BLOOD of Jesus. He also needs to know that our ALARM system is connected to the garage key pad - he left open, so if you type in the wrong number a "certain number of times" OH yeah.... - the police will be here in a hot second since they are stationed around the corner and I alerted them of the activity so they'll give us some extra patrols :) :)

On another note....I have read the mini book by April Simons on What My Mother Taught Me (Dodie Osteen) that is and it was EXCELLENT. I will definetly be commenting on another blog more about this book. It's great.

Time has FLOWN by - literally..for us that is. We have been SO busy. Any free moment, we try to spend together as a family and regroup. I wanted to check in as we approach the end of the month.

God is faithful. He is our deliverer - Our friend, an ever present help in the time of trouble. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

We have a parade coming up on 3-28-09 so we have a very busy week coming up. I will upload pictures of our "float conversion" as it's nears completion.

Is God the owner of your life? Which means you are the manager of your life?

That's the way it should be. Pastor Mark is teaching a powerful and revelatory message this month. Spontaneous, Outrageous, Off The Chain, Giving.

Spontaneous: Spirit Led, unexpected

Outrageous: You can't explain it, it's a spiritual concept to understand

Off The Chain: It's AWESOME - the benefits of giving

Giving (living a life of live, give, love) thinking of others not just yourself and your cause

Next week he's preaching on the protection our giving provides us. It doesn't mean it will not rain or that we won't get wet - it does mean though that we are protected. I can't wait.

I am a giver. I love to give. I enjoy seeing other people happy. In return God blesses me. I appreciate it. God doesn't just bless financially - he blesses us with peace, hope, exchanging our sorrows for joy, he gives us hope for tomorrow, strength for everything we go through.

Did you know that God believes in US so much that He trusts we will give back to Him. When Pastor Mark said that - it really moved me because, there is truth in that. He's not like the mortgage company that does an autodraft. He is not like the electric company that will cut off your supply with out payment. He is not like HEB that will let you go hungry, starve and die with out food in exchange for your cold, hard cash. He is a gracious God, we are His children as we are with our own, merciful and gracious so He is with us.

If you have not given as you should (tithe 10%) start today. If you do give your tithe but you don't step out and give offerings above a minimal amount - step out. Stretch yourself. Have faith.. when you jump, He'll catch you.

The root of bitterness and self centered behavior

Real life issues from our past can cause a root of bitterness to take plant and start growing. Real life issues can generate self centered behavior which is repulsive to others and self destructive to yourself.

Initially, you may not even know it's a root. You may just think you were hurt from the respective situation that caused real life pain. You may think you even let go of the hurt - but really, after self evaluation of why you are now acting the way you do, why you wear what you wear, why you say what you say, why you do what you do, why you hang out with who you hang out with, why you hold on to certain things, why you perceive certain situations, why you respond certain ways, why you feel the way you do about love, marriage, and men, why you can't seperate from spiritually unhealthy family, why you feel unhappy, unsettled and maintain a sarcastic tone/reasoning behind everything - always looking for something to be wrong, or fake or .................not to your advantage....the list goes on.....

I know that you have been let down, so NOW you are suspicious sorta say of everything that happens around you. You have become nosey and over invasive, crossing boundaries verbally and physcially.

I encourage you to talk to the Lord. Repent and ask the Lord to remove this from you. Ask for forgiveness from Him and those around you. (even if it's your children or people at church) Choose today - to not feed this root that is a plant trying to flourish and build fruit in your life. Starve it out. Pride can't live with a humble heart. A Jezebel spirit can't live with holiness. Bitterness can't live with love and forgiveness.

If you feel alone in whatever you are walking through - I am reminded of my favorite "FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND" during our toughest times in life - it's then there is only one set and He the Lord God Almighty is there to "carry" us through.

Oh my gosh. We finished up the "love...." series and it was AWESOME!

Pastor laid it out like this...

Don't put a lid on God meaning don't put Him in a box - take the limits off.

We don't move on surrounding circumstances, we move on His "set time".

Trust is the foundation of love - it's easier not to trust then to trust. Don't pass that down to your children.

Invest into others by what you speak out of your mouth.

God puts a fortified wall around us.

God doesn't want you to endure life - He wants you to enjoy it. Too many people are going forward with everyday life, looking in the rearview mirror. He explained and gave the example of the crazy driver in front of you who keeps hitting the breaks and you are behind them thinking what in the WORLD are they breaking for. It's cause they are driving forward looking back. - Things happen in life that hurt us, tramatize us, but we MUST move on. How do you move on you ask. You don't deny that the event happened, but you ALLOW God to heal you.

You have to ......

1. Face It - what is the issue

2. Trace It - deal with the root not the fruit

3. Erase It - give it to God, you don't deny it happened but let it go

4. Replace It - if you feel you have an empty hole - replace it, fill it with the word of God

Wash it away with the Word, fill the hole in your heart with the Word. When the enemy of your soul brings memories of pain back, wash your mind with the Word. God can heal. We have to quit removing the scab as the healing process begins and allow the Lord to heal us completely. God never condemns us - He convicts us.

MONDAY MORNING RECAP:

Every message series Pastor rolls out gets better and better. Last month we were talking about "coming to dine"...this month he's teaching about "falling in love with Jesus".

We fall in love with so many things... (I love that show) (I love those shoes) (I love that purse) (I love my job) (I love this - I love that) but are we IN LOVE with Jesus. (His ways, His methodologies, His character)

Pastor was teaching that trust is the foundation of love. That when we TRUST someone we begin to embrace their ways and character. Then he asked are you just dating God?

Then this past Sunday, he took it to another level talking in depth about our soul. (soul=mind will and emotions) Is your soul in control? Is your soul anchored?

I want my soul to be anchored in Christ so deep that whatever happens, whatever I face in life now and in the future - that I will not be moved because I'm anchored in Him.

He went on to teach that Hope is of the soul, Faith is of the spirit. How we can PROGRAM our spiritual life; by transforming our mind by the Word.

Hope in you helps you not break under pressure.

Pastor Mark has been preaching on "come and dine" @ "the table". This Sunday he spoke on MASKS. What mask(s) do you have on? What are you wearing or trying to wear when you come to the table? Are you trying to fake it till you make it? Trying to have on a "game face"? The bible teaches us your mask WILL SLIP!

God is not lonely and looking for friends on facebook or sitting around knitting waiting for someone to accept Christ, He is a great King and satisfied just to be God. However, in His great mercy and love He allows us to come to Him through the covenant He has with His Son Jesus.

Do we have to be perfect when we come dine with Christ? No, you come as you are. Like Mephibathe, he was crippled but summoned to the Lords table. Dysfunction does not define your destiny and a crippled condition does not have to become your ultimate position.

SOMETHING WONDERFUL HAPPENED

Have you ever been through a season where things were not going well. You were tired, exhausted, finally to the point of being just sick and tired of being sick and tired, you are trying to have a good attitude, speak the Word of God but it "seems" nothing and THEN... finally... breakthrough! WOW!

Is it possible - something wonderful can happen in the midst of getting hit on every other corner. It's what you've been waiting for, expecting, believing God for but in the midst you got discouraged, tired and weighed down.

Well, that happened to our family - something wonderful came our way. I just want to say publicly what I've said privately. HALLELUJAH, THANK YOU JESUS!

STAY ENCOURAGED FOLKS - Something wonderful if going to happen. Anticipate the inevitable, supernatural, intervention of God, expect a miracle.

He did it for me, He'll do it for you!

I am still believing God for some critical additional things of course- but this helps so much!

We are spending Thanksgiving in town to take advantage of much needed rest and relaxation. Our lives tend to get so busy with Legacy Academy, Breath of Life, the boys, etc....

We decorated for Christmas.

That's right folks, it's BEFORE Thanksgiving and we decorated for Christmas. My mom gave me her collection of nutcrackers and we put up a big beautiful wreath on the front door and garland with lights coming down the stair railing. No Christmas tree till December but the rest looks great. We have the nativity scene on the piano, the village of people on the fireplace mantel kind of around the TV, stretch out across. It looks very Christmasy. Marcus is used to the decor and knows not to touch. Matthew is NOT used to the decor and we have to consistently remind him not to touch. Nothing has broken so far :) :) :)

Dream AGAIN, Hope AGAIN, so you can LIVE again

Whether you believe in the devil or not, he exist.

The bible says he comes to kill, steal and destroy. Kill the plans God has for you, Steal your hope and Destroy your dreams.

But no matter what HELL you have been through, God has a Breath of fresh air waiting for you. He wants you to Dream Again, Hope Again so you can Live Again.

When a glass shatters into lots of pieces, it sometimes leaves small pieces that come back and get stuck in your foot a day later, a week later etc. I'm sure you get the picture.

When our dreams shatter - the pain that is left sometimes last 1 year, 1 decade, sometimes seems to be 1 lifetime. But whether you want to believe it or not, God is still able to use the good, the bad and ugly and put the amalgamation our life experiences in a large pot, mix them together as a sweet perfume.

He just needs you to Hope AGAIN, Dream AGAIN, Trust AGAIN. Yes, my emphasis is on again. Because many of you have hoped, dreamed, trusted and nothing - you say well look where I am today. Well I say - take the limits off of God! Stop creating your own cap of what He's capable of doing. Quit making excuses, quit eating your way to happiness and to fill the void, Put the glass down......, God has a design for your life.

I LOVE YOU!

We are in a new month. It's been a while since I've blogged. I'll try to blog more frequently. We'll see how that goes.

July 4th was such a GREAT DAY! We (the church) set up a jumping castle, popcorn stand, hotdog roller, sodas, water, we were set. We set this up as a free "outreach" sorta say for the community of Cedar Park and Leander. Meet and Greet, saying - we're here - come on over, join us on Sunday's at 10:30a.m.

The Firefighters from the near by station dropped by, a parent from our learning center volunteered to help serve, it was a GREAT DAY!

The boys had lots of fun too. We were so exhausted from the heat - we all crashed when we got home. WELL DONE TEAM!

V: You did, where did you see Jesus in your dreams
M: No at the door
V: At what door baby
M:At my door in my room
V: What did He say
M: He said, Hi Mark
V: and then what happened
M: He said, Hi Mark, what are you doing

M: I said What the Heck are you doing here
V: You did and then what happened
M: I was scared and surprised, I said I wanted my mommy
V: and then what happened, how did you know it was Jesus, did he say his name, what did he want, did he give you something or say anything
M: because I SAW him at the door, it was Jesus (b/c they've met before and he knows what he looks like lol ??), he wanted to come into my room (Jesus was at his door frame entry way)
V: was he short or tall

V: then what happened

V: I thought he was in your room at the door

All day long - he's been telling me he saw Jesus wow wow wow! WOW - approx. 2-3 weeks ago Mark II was upstairs playing in his room and he came out and said yes (that's how he responds when someone calls him) I said oh, I wasn't calling you, your okay. Then he comes out again and says yes.. immediately Samuel came to mind. I went upstairs to his room. He as watching his dad preaching on a dvd, you could feel the Lord's presence when you walked in, I said Marcus if you hear someone calling again you say yes Lord okay. He said okay, I turned around walked out, closed the door, walked down stairs. When I got to the bottom of the stairs, Matt runs up to me and says Jesus. I said what did you say. He smiled and said Jesus. This is my 19mo. who was born 1 month early at 8months saying a new word. Hmmmm.... wow!

This is amazing to me. It's awesome really. He's 3 1/2 so he still tells the truth even when does wrong. He's never said before he's seen Jesus and when he was telling me I just started crying.....

Since Father's Day is around the corner I thought I'd take the time to brag on my Husband.

Mark is a GREAT Dad. He loves the boys SO MUCH! Not only is he a Man of God in the pulpit and around "folk" (public life) but also at home (private life) THEN... his (personal life) fasting, prayer time, devotional, study prep, etc... He lives a disciplined life which is so admirable.

I couldn't ask for a better daddy for our boys. His balance and time management is 2nd to none. His insight and sensativity to the Sprit and the things of God is "wow". And believe you me, I'm not easily "wow'd" He's been AROUND ministry his whole life. (born in the pews) just kidding. Preached his 1st sermon at 15. Guest on TBN by the age of 21, plus so many more accomplishments, but I don't want to make this about that, my point is God's shown him favor. He's had his share of trials, mistakes, failures, challenges etc.. but through it all He has CONSISTENTLY trusted the Lord. He has taken and proven God at his Word.

My husband is truly amazing. He says he married "up" by marrying me, but I married "up" by marrying him. Together we have two beautiful children and I'm so glad God put us together!

Vision stays the same, strategy changes. Keep on going!

Don't settle for "good" when God wants you to have the "best".

REMEMBER that through it all...God takes the amalgamations of our life experiences and uses them. All of them, "The good, the bad and the ugly"
